In October 2024, I began sketching portraits of musician friends and colleagues directly onto a musical stave.
Through a process of chance erasure, most of each drawing disappears, leaving behind only dots, lines, and brushstrokes that suggest notes and sounds. Each portrait becomes a Musical Face: a visual score that can be performed, interpreted, and transformed back into sound.
